Couples counseling to improve relationship

Couples Therapy

We provide individual psychotherapy in-person as well as couple and family sessions at our Wayne office. We are currently offering virtual sessions in NJ, TX and NY. Relationship stress can impact all areas of life, from our ability to be fully present with loved ones to our productivity at work and overall well-being.

Couples therapy offers a neutral, supportive space where partners can learn effective communication strategies and establish healthy boundaries. Whether you’re navigating challenges related to parenting, finances, intimacy, or infidelity, couples therapy can help strengthen and improve your relationship.

Couples therapy can benefit a wide range of relationships, including:

  1. Couples seeking pre-marital counseling – Those preparing for marriage and wanting to build a strong foundation for their relationship.

  2. Non-married couples in long-term relationships – Partners who are committed but facing challenges or seeking ways to strengthen their bond.

  3. Married couples experiencing difficulties – Couples dealing with issues like communication breakdowns, intimacy problems, or conflicts over finances or parenting.

  4. Couples navigating divorce – Those going through separation who want to manage the process more amicably, particularly when children are involved.

Couples therapy is designed to help partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship, regardless of their stage in life.

When Couples Therapy May Not Be Appropriate:

  • A partner who is physically, emotionally, or mentally abusive

  • A partner with an active addiction (e.g., alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex) who is unwilling to seek help

  • A partner who lacks empathy or is unwilling to take accountability and make changes

If you or your partner are struggling with an active addiction, we recommend seeking individual counseling prior to starting couples therapy.
